Never Too Old

A long-suffering Grandpa and a stubborn Grandma battle it out for your attention and affections. This octogenarian Yorkshire couple have certainly been around for decades, but they’re no strangers to the 21st century. They’re feisty, they’re mobile (well, just about…) and they’re connected (they know what social media is… and they’re not afraid to use it!). Frolicked’s oldest duo provide a love story with a difference through their antics and arguments, and they’re living proof that you’re never too old to do anything…

Gran and Gramps first appeared in a little lovely show for a small audience, co-created by Beka Haigh and Rachel Wakelin-Kirby for Marsden Jazz Festival in 2006. They have since had a much needed makeover and the brand new, old couple can be seen in the pictures above. The old, static version of the show no longer exists.

Gran and Gramps now perform as roaming / walking puppets (despite their age) and will delight, entertain… and chat about anything, with anyone!

Gran also has her own Twitter account (@Yorkshire_Gran) and has produced videos and live streamed for Manchester International Festival‘s Creative50 programme.

  1. Hi
I am the Organiser of the Pudsey Scarecrow Festival taking place on Sunday 6th September we are looking for puppet entertainment suitable for children and adults to be present in Pudsey Park from 11am until 4pm.
We had our first festival last year with amazing success over 100 Scarecrows to see around Pudsey and displayed in the park with over 4,000 visitors attending.
We raise money for Pudsey In Bloom.
I would like to have a conversation about your involvement if you are available that date.
Looking forward to hearing from you
    Kindest regards
    Caroline Draper
